The National Monuments Service's description

Discovered short distance W of ringfort (CO019-04101-) in 1950s when field ploughed (Doody 1986, Cork No. 23). According to local information, landowner unearthed a stone slab, under which was small 'undecorated urn' (H c. 6in; diam. c. 4in), packed full of cremated bone. Pottery vessel thrown onto nearby field fence, which has since been levelled.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
