The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, in a marshy field. A spread (13m E-W; min. 7m N-S) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched sand was discovered during archaeological test-trenching in advance of the construction of a house. The spread was c. 0.3m below the present ground level and its W edge terminated at a section of the linear earthwork (CO018-001----), known as the Claidh Dubh. This possible burnt mound was not impacted by the development and it is preserved in situ. (Carroll 2007, 1-10)
