The National Monuments Service's description
On N side of Awbeg River. Identified during field-study project (1983-5). A small scatter of blades, 15 pieces in all, was recovered which, according to Woodman (1989, 119), just possibly 'came from an Early Mesolithic site'.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
