The National Monuments Service's description
Heavily overgrown ruin of 18th-century house: 2-storey over basement. Entrance front (S) of 6 bays, central 2-bay pedimented breakfront. Central round-headed door ope, flanked by sidelights, with limestone surround. Brick-arched camber-headed windows. Bow-ended side elevations of 2 bays. Projections to rear containing staircases and fireplaces, windows in W elevation have 18th-century moulded sills. According to local information, built in 1790s onto earlier house; Grove White (1905-25, vol. 2, 21) suggests house incorporates part of '...old castle...'; house abandoned in 1957. Vacant 2-storey ornate ranges of farm buildings to rear, keystone in archway inscribed 'J.W.E. 1878'. Fine entrance piers survive.
