The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on gentle NW-facing slope. According to local information, 'fort' existed here similar to 'fort' (moated site - 14192) in same field c. 100m to NW; levelled some time ago apart from fosse (36.5m N-S), immediately to W of field boundary. Fosse infilled in 1983 but still traceable as disturbed ground; no visible surface trace of rest of site which, according to local information, extended to W of fosse.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
