This bawn is referred to in the 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork - vol. 4 North Cork' (2000, 538-9) under the entry (no. 14371) for a tower house (CO016-072001-). It is referred to as follows: 'Aerial photograph (CASAP) shows outline of bawn as crop mark with tower house near its SW corner.'
