The National Monuments Service's description
Bowman (1934, 148) recorded 'church site (14515) and burial ground on hilltop in Mr Geoffrey O'Sullivan's land where 'The burial ground, c. 18 yards by 10 yards, was about 14 yards south of the church site. An old road - not used now - leads to the church site'. Geoffrey O'Sullivan's land surrounded Knockilly House. Location of church site and burial ground is known by present landowners but permission to inspect site was refused.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
