The National Monuments Service's description
One of seven fulachta fiadh recorded by Bowman (1934, 391) in Curraheen. Exact location not known. Bowman (ibid.) noted 'one in the land of each of the following:- W. Nunan, Ml. O'Connor, Cors. P. O'Connor, Cors. J. O'Connor, Mrs Cronin's: 2 in Mrs Mary Nunan's'. Three fulachta fiadh have been located in the townland (10684, 10685, 10686); the other four remain unlocated.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
