The National Monuments Service's description

On E side of road, built against natural slope at junction of road and trackway. Early/mid-20th-century lime kiln. Random-rubble construction using local shale. Front elevation (W) has arched recess (H 1.6m; Wth 2.2m) with dressed limestone voussoirs; central lintelled recess with sloping slabs in vertical rear wall.
