The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on SW-facing slope. Depicted on 1842, 1903 and 1936 OS 6-inch maps as hachured oval-shaped enclosure. Circular area (34m N-S) truncated by farm laneway to E; enclosed elsewhere by earthen bank (int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1m) with external fosse. Numerous gaps through bank; break to NW. Fosse waterlogged due to stream running through it which makes its exit to SSW. Interior heavily overgrown; D-shaped (20m E-W) due to laneway truncating E side.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
