The National Monuments Service's description
On S slopes of hill which is known locally as Quern Hill or Carrig na mBrónta; site straddles county boundary with Limerick. Hillside has numerous outcrops of conglomerate sandstone. Main area of quarrying extend up hillside, from OD 800ft to 1300ft. Large number of quarried hollows show where conglomerate millstones have been removed. There are also outlines of partially prepared millstones still in situ. Millstones lie scattered across the hill in various stages of completion (diam. c. 1.5m; Wth c. 0.3m; diam. of central hole c. 0.15m). (Maume 1991, 82)
