The National Monuments Service's description
In forestry nursery, c. 100m SE of ringfort (CO008-011---); one of three graves (CO008-01203-; CO008-01204-) found close together by workmen in 1978, who dislodged capstone and dug around cist, removing some cremated bone (Doody 1986, Cork No. 5, fig. 36). Rectangular cist (0.58m x 0.32m; D 0.17m; long axis N-S) consisted of four sidestones, covered by capstone; base of paving slabs. Cremated bones found to be undiagnostic. Reconstructed with displaced capstone lying nearby. Second cist (CO008-01203-) 4.6m to SW; badly damaged third grave (CO008-01204-) between the other two.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
