Stations of the cross line approach to well. Two steps lead down to circular well lined with concrete. Backdrop to well of large sheets of blue and white painted corrugated iron, forming letter M; statue of Blessed Virgin in glass-fronted concrete dome inserted into centre of iron sheets and placed above and behind well. Railings and bench in front. Dedicated to Blessed Virgin; rounds paid all year round but particularly on August 15 (Grove White 1905-25, vol. 1, 203). Now frequented in May by people from 'Charleville and district who pay the customary three visits to 'do their rounds' ' (Anon 1987, 84). Stone wall replaced corrugated iron backdrop following redevelopment c. 1987 (ibid., 86).
