The National Monuments Service's description

In a recently planted forest. An ill-defined spread of heat-shattered stone and charcoal-enriched soil appears to have been dumped from a recently cut drain. A black lens (L 0.3m; D 0.3m) is visible in the W face of the drain, c. 0.6m below ground level. It is not visible in the E face of the drain. There is a marshy area, covered with reeds and rushes immediately to the N.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
