The National Monuments Service's description

Bowman (1934, 700) recorded a souterrain on 'Mr Stoke's land. A passage, about 15 ft. long, led to this souterrain, which measured about 8ft x 4ft x 4ft high. It was stone lined. The stones were removed about 17 years ago, and the chamber filled in. There is no sign of a fort in this field'. Exact location not known.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
