The National Monuments Service's description
On the E side of a road, within an early ecclesiastical enclosure (CO006-006011-). This rectangular graveyard (c. 45m E-W; c. 48m N-S), is enclosed to the W by a stone wall, and an earthen bank (max. H c. 1.3m) to the N, E and S. The ruin of the parish church of Tullylease (CO006-006006-) is just N of the centre of the graveyard. The graveyard is in occasional use. The earliest headstone noted, in the nave of the church, is dated to 1678. Headstones are thickly clustered to the W and immediately S of the church, many dating from the 18th century. There are a number of low uninscribed gravemarkers, especially to the SE and SW of the church. Graves to the E and N of the church are 20th century in date. Early Christian or medieval cross slabs have been recorded to the W and S of the church (CO006-006008; CO006-006009; CO006-006023-).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 4: North Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2000). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
