The National Monuments Service's description
In level pasture, on the N bank of a stream. An oval grass-covered mound (16m E-W; 14m N-S; H 0.7m) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil. According to local information, a shallow depression on the S side of the mound is the remains of a small pond which was drained. Numerous natural rises were also noted in the field.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
