The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on cliff edge overlooking river valley to W. Outline of castle foundations evident, with several large chunks of masonry strewn about; footings survive of section of N wall (L 4m; H 0.4m; T c. 2m) and of E wall (L c. 6m). Grass-covered ridges to N, E and S of latter probably mark line of bawn wall, enclosing rectangular area (c. 25m E-W; c. 30m N-S); on W side cliff edge drops off almost vertically (D c. 2.5m). Castle of the Fitzgeralds of Desmond (Grove White 1905-25, vol. 4, 203). Earthworks (13832) to E of site; uncertain if these are related to castle.
