The National Monuments Service's description
On the N bank of the Shannon estuary adjacent to Bush Island. Described by O’Sullivan (2001, 301) as a possibly medieval ‘U-shaped post structure in bank of creek on upper foreshore, NW of Bush Island, oriented N-S, 3.6m long, 1.8m wide (at mouth), 80cm wide at S end. A vertical post-and-wattle fence, 2m long, leads to this structure from NW. Possible medieval fishtrap, similar in form to Bunratty 4. July 2000.' (O'Sullivan 2001, 203-204, 300, Bush Island 4)
