The National Monuments Service's description
Between Canon Island and Inishloe Island in the Fergus Estuary. Described by O’Sullivan et al. (2010) as follows: ‘A causeway connects Canon Island with Inishloe at low tide. It is at least 600m in length. It appears to form a curved line between the two islands. The causeway is marked on Henry Pelhams map of County Clare 1787. It appears to have been constructed of medium sized boulders.’ (O’Sullivan et al. 2010, Appendix 1, 70, Inishloe Island 11)
