The National Monuments Service's description

Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). A hachured circular feature is marked on the 1923 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. On inspection in 2003 this was found to be a quarried area (21m N-S; 6m E-W; D 1.1m).
