The National Monuments Service's description

Abutting a field boundary (long-axis ESE-WNW) and forming a gatepost to a field entrance at the N side of a tertiary road. An ex situ cut limestone window sill (H 1.07m; Wth 0.36m; T 0.1m) set upright as a gatepost and identified in 1997 during the North Munster Project of the Discovery Programme. The side which faces in toward the gate has an upstand (H 0.5-2cm) where it would have been set horizontally to receive a window frame. A hole has been made in the upper portion of this face in order to receive the gate latch. The narrow face which would have formed part of the outer elevation of a building (now overlooking the road) has vertical line dressing. The finish on the opposite narrow side is rough, where it would have been incorporated into the masonry of the structure.
