The National Monuments Service's description
In improved pasture on the plateau of a hillock with excellent views in all directions across a lower, gently undulating landscape. According to Westropp (1908-09, 385) this monument had a ‘low earthen ring…[with]…no fosse’. Depicted as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 38m) and named 'Knockmoyle Fort' on the OS historic mapping. Very faint traces of a levelled bank (Wth c. 8-10m; H 0.1m) are evident intermittently SW-N-SE. The interior slopes down gently to S whereby it is just off the crown of the plateau. No clear traces of a fosse.
