The National Monuments Service's description
On the S shore of Ballyalla Lake. A small oval area (c. 9.5m SW-NE; c. 5m NW-SE) c. 15m from the shore and apparently composed of stone was noted on drone photography by John Tracey in 2022. An image on Apple Maps shows a possible small causeway leading to what may be a related site nearer the shore.
Four other crannogs are known from this lake (CL033-035----, CL033-036----, CL033-037----, and CL033-040001-). One (CL033-040001-) is submerged and has a submerged causeway (CL033-040002-) leading to it. One (CL033-035----) was excavated in 1904/5 and was found to be composed wholly of stone laid down on marl.
