The National Monuments Service's description

This record is for an incised headstone within Clareabbey (CL033-120----) in memory of Charles Hallinan, dated 1697 (Fitzgerald 1900-3, 15). The graveyard inscriptions at Clareabbey were documented by the Clare Roots Society in 2008 and are accessible at http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/don_tran/graves/clareabbey_graveyard_ennis.htm; accessed on 27 May 2015. Many of the graveslabs were found to have weathered considerably since the early 1900s and the inscriptions were no longer legible. This particular headstone could not be identified.
