The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the E side of Abbey Street within Ennis historic town (CL033-082----). A three-storeyed house of three bays, divided into two houses in the 18th century. Extensively altered and in commercial use but simple plaster cornices of late 17th/18th century survive. The W gable is intact together with its coping stones and the stone eves course can be seen behind the modern gutters along the front wall. The W chimney stack may be hidden under modern cement. A rectangular plaque on the front wall bears an inscription in relief. The inscription reads ‘This house was built in the yeare of Our Lord God 1658 by John Cruce'.
