The National Monuments Service's description
On a slight ENE-WSW ridge on the floodplain of the River Fergus. Investigated in 1905 by Diana Parkinson, who opened about one third of the crannog. She recorded that it was composed wholely of stone laid down on marl. There was no wood component, and wooden artefacts were not recovered. No structures were identified within the monument, but large quantities of bones were recovered. Stone, bronze and iron artefacts were also recovered. It survives as a grass- and scrub-covered mound of earth and stone (diam. of base 14.5m E-W; diam. of top 7m E-W; H 1.5-1.9m).
