The National Monuments Service's description

Situated in the densely overgrown SE sector of ‘Kylemore Fort’ (CL017-120001-), a large hilltop enclosure. Drawn as a rectangular area and labelled ‘Infants Burial Ground’ on the first edition (1842) of the OS 6-inch map and labelled ‘Children’s Burial Ground’ on the Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map and shown as a large subrectangular area (L c. 35m N-S; Wth c. 15m E-W) on the OS 25-inch plan (1893). Listed as ‘Burial ground’ in the RMP (1996). When inspected in 1999, there were no visible surface archaeological remains at this heavily briar- and blackthorn-covered site.
