The National Monuments Service's description
On a broad NE-SW ridge in pasture. Hachured and named ‘Lisbeg’ on both the first (1842) and Cassini (1920) editions of the OS 6-inch map. This subrectangular enclosure (int. dims. 35m ENE-WSW; 26.4m NNW-SSE) is defined by a bank (Wth 1-2m; H 0.6m) which is overlain by a stone wall (H 0.4-0.6m) along the N and E. There are two entrance gates - one at W and another at N – and there is a large modern hayshed (c. 15m NNW-SSE; 9m ENE-WSW) occupying a significant portion of the interior to W of centre. Although, apparently, not regarded locally as a ‘fort’, the OS map representation strongly argues otherwise and suggests the likelihood that ‘Lisbeg’ rath was subsequently reused as a haggard. There is a rath (CL017-106----) containing a souterrain (CL017-106002-) c. 140m to the SW and a second rath (CL017-108----) lies c. 110m to the N.
