The National Monuments Service's description
In a graveyard (CL017-094003-) at the centre of a large early ecclesiastical enclosure (CL017-094001-). Indicated and labelled ‘Templemore Church in ruins’ on both the first (1842) and Cassini (1916) editions of the OS 6-inch map. Known locally as ‘Templemoore’ or ‘Moor’ or ‘Kells’ church (Westropp 1915, 272). A heavily overgrown and partially collapsed rectangular structure (ext. dims. L 22.5m E-W; Wth 9m N-S) is orientated ENE-WSW. Most of the S wall (H 3.8m) and N wall (H 3m) survive intact, as does the lower portion of the W gable wall (H 1.5m). An early 19th-century burial vault abuts the remains of the E gable wall. There is a round-headed, single light window at the E end of the S wall (Wth 0.18m; H 1.55m) and a partially blocked early, trabeate doorway (Wth 0.6m; H 1.4m) is located slightly off centre in the W gable wall A souterrain (CL017-094004-) lies c. 45m to the ESE.
