The National Monuments Service's description
On fairly level overgrown karst. Hachured and named ‘Caherahoagh Forts’ (also referring to an adjacent cashel (CL017-044002-) c. 25m to the NE) on the first edition (1842) of the OS 6-inch map. Also hachured but named ‘Caherbullaun Forts’ on the OS 25-inch plan (1897) and the Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map, and referred to as ‘Caherbullaun’ by Westropp (1896, 367). This partly damaged subcircular cashel (int. diam. 30m N-S) is defined by an overgrown wall (Wth 2-2.4m; int. H 0.4-0.6m; ext. H 1m) and associated internal collapse (Wth 2m; H 0.8m) at S. The wall has been removed from NE-E and SW-W. At the N, a drystone field wall is built over the cashel wall, which has also been obscured by field-clearance material. The interior is covered with trees.
