The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture at the N edge of a plateau overlooking Ilaungarve Turlough to the N. Hachured on both the first (1842) and Cassini (1920) editions of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). This poorly preserved, mostly tree-covered and partly damaged circular cashel (26.8m E-W; 26.7m N-S) is defined from S-W-NE by the remains of a stone wall, comprising facing-stones (mostly the outer wall-face) within a narrow spread of collapsed stone. From W-N-NE, these stones have spilled (Wth 6m) down the slope outside the monument. From S-W, field-clearance stones have been deposited on the edge of the cashel. From W-NE, larger field stones have been pushed onto the perimeter and from NE-E-S a later drystone wall (Wth 0.6m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.2m) is built on the earlier enclosure line. In 2014, archaeological monitoring of topsoil-stripping c. 98m to the E did not uncover any archaeological remains (Taylor 2014).
