The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture at the N edge of a broad hilltop which slopes gently to the N, offering wide views out in that direction. Indicated on the first edition (1842) of the OS 6-inch map and hachured on the later OS 25-inch plan (1897) and Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). This hazel-covered oval cashel (int. dims. 24.2m NNE-SSW; 18.5m WNW-ESE) is defined N-E-SW by stone tumble (Wth 2.5-3m; H 0.4-0.6m), which is possibly the remnant of facing for an earthen bank rather than a wall because of the paucity of stones visible. Facing-stones do survive on the tumble’s outer edge E-S. There is a slight berm (Wth 3m) outside the perimeter at E. From SW-N the perimeter tumble is overlain by a later double-faced field wall (Wth 0.5m on top; H c. 1.5m) which kinks W at W. However, this later wall probably more or less follows the earlier enclosure line. There is a later, livestock gap at N.
