The National Monuments Service's description

In undulating pasture. Recorded as a ringfort on the first edition (1842) of the OS 6-inch map and hachured as an enclosure on the Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map. Also depicted on the intervening OS 25-inch plan (1897) which records a scarped raised circular area (diam. c. 28m) upon which part of the townland boundary separating Bunnanagat South and Monanaleen runs from SW-W-N. A field boundary wall is recorded on the enclosing scarp from N-E and the monument is defined by a scarp from E-S-SW. Aerial imagery (DigitalGlobe) shows that the boundaries formerly on the monument from SW-N-E have been removed and a later field wall has been erected running N-S across the monument.
