The National Monuments Service's description

Located on the N half of a natural rectangular platform (66m N-S; 30m E-W) that slopes to the S. Indicated on the 1840 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a roofed rectangular building; by the time of the 1916 ed., it was ruined and unroofed. The N wall (Wth 0.7-0.8m; H 0.4m; max. H 1.2m at NW) is the best preserved section of the building (int. dims. 9m N-S; 5.9m E-W). Only the inner face of the E and W walls is visible. The walls are constructed of crudely dressed and mortared stone that are probably of late-medieval date; no architectural features are evident (Breen and Ua Cróinín (2000, 5). A similar, but smaller, building (CL016-144002-) lies immediately to the N. The platform may have may have been adapted as a bawn (CL016-144003-) (ibid.).
