The National Monuments Service's description
On top of a prominent hill in an area of undrained and uncleared marshy pasture with good views.
Hachured on the 1840 and 1916 eds. of the OS 6-inch maps and named ‘Lisillaun’ on the latter ed. Listed as ‘enclosure’ in the RMP (1996).
An almost circular rath (34m N-S; 33.5m E-W) defined by an inner bank (Wth 4.4-6m; int. H 0.5-0.9m; ext. H 2-2.8m), intervening fosse (Wth 1.9-4m) and outer bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.6-1.45m; ext. H 0.15-0.6m), which has been reduced to a scarp (H 0.25m), now overgrown, at S. Both banks are steep sided and round topped and the fosse is waterlogged. A causewayed entrance gap (Wth 6m) at E marks the original entrance. Three narrow cattle gaps (Wth 0.5m) are also visible. A cattle path running along the N sector of outer face of the inner bank gives the appearance of a slight terrace. The gently undulating interior is densely overgrown with rushes and reeds and is very marshy. There is a farmyard c. 70m to the SW.
