The National Monuments Service's description

On the S extent of a shelf at the base of Ballyganner hill, with gently sloping ground to the E and SE and within an extensive field system (CL009-059001-). Hachured on the 1840 and 1916 OS 6-inch maps. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). A subcircular area (ext. dims. 28.6m NE-SW; 24.6m NW-SE) defined by a stone spread (Wth 1-1.5m) of wall collapse. The outer face of the wall (H 1-1.5m) is well defined all the way around and comprises up to three courses of stone laid horizontally (individual stones: L c. 0.8m; Wth 0.4m; H 0.8m). At NW a drystone wall is built on top of the outer face. Gaps occur at NNW and ENE but are not original entrances. The interior is a built up and is level with the stone spread defining the perimeter. An enclosure (CL016-020035-) abuts the cashel to the SE and a cashel (CL016-020013-) lies c. 18m to the NNW.
