The National Monuments Service's description
In level pasture, with land rising to the S but falling to the N and with wide views out in this direction. Partly indicated on the first edition (1842) of the OS 6-inch map but fully indicated on the later OS 25-inch plan (1897) and Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Enclosure (possible)’ in the RMP (1996). When inspected in 1999, this subcircular cashel (int. diams. 38.4m E-W; 32.5m NNW-SSE; ext. diams. 44m E-W; 38.8m NNW-SSE) was defined by a low, wide rubble wall and associated collapse (combined Wth 2.1-4.2m; max. int. H 0.8m; max. ext. H 0.75m), which could be traced all around but particularly from E-S-WSW. There was an entrance gap (Wth 2m) at WSW. Overlying the cashel wall was a narrower modern field wall (av. Wth 0.8-0.9m; H 0.65 -1.4m) with courses of larger and more regularly laid blocks, as well as a topmost course of small stones. There was an overgrown clearance cairn in the SE quadrant of the cashel interior. Subsequently, this cairn and the enclosing element from ESE-S-WNW, including wall and entrance gap, appear to have been levelled sometime around 2010 / 2011 - see satellite imagery MapGenie DigitalGlobe (2011-2013).
