The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture at the S end of a shallow basin which extends to the NE, the location marked ‘Liable to Floods’ on OS historic mapping. Described by Martin Ryan (1966-1967) and reported to the National Monuments Service in 1996 by Tom Coffey. This large horseshoe-shaped fulacht fia (16.4m NE-SW; 16.4m NW-SE) is defined by a broad, grass-covered bank (Wth 5.9-7.8m; int. H 0.4-1m; ext. H 0.3-1.5m) of burnt and heat-shattered stones which is open towards the SW, and is most substantial at SE. There is a large boulder embedded in the bank at the SW. In the centre is a long, oval-shaped trough area (8.7m NE-SW, 2.1m NW-SE) which extends to the SW perimeter. A small, grass-covered rectangular area (3.5m NW-SE; 2m NE-SW) of the bank has been dug into at SSE, from which a channel (2.5m NW-SE; 1.5m NE-SW) extends NW into the central trough area. There is a holy well (CL011-002001-) c. 186m to the NNE.
