The National Monuments Service's description
On a fairly level natural terrace in rough pasture, with higher ground to the N and generally low-lying ground elsewhere. Partly outlined on the 1842 and 1920 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. This suboval ecclesiastical enclosure (45m E-W; 43m N-S) is defined by a scarp (0.8-2.2m) from ENE to SW, and by a well-built wall (Wth 1m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1m) from SW to NE. From W to N this wall appears to have been rebuilt. Along the N a natural rock-face forms the inner face of the enclosing element. From NE to ENE the enclosure is defined by a stony bank (Wth 4.5m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.3m). There is a rough entrance (Wth 1.66m) at the NE, lined on either side by an irregular upright (H 1.1m). In the entrance between the uprights is a threshold stone, while just inside the entrance the ground is irregular and steep. In the centre of the enclosure is a church (CL010-087002-), and immediately to the S of that is a graveyard (CL010-087003-). Banks of earth and stone radiate from the church at the NE, SW and NW. Remains of a rectangular building (CL010-087004-) lie inside the perimeter at E. A later square structure is built against the outside of the enclosure at WSW.
