The National Monuments Service's description

In high (above the 600’ contour) rough pasture with wide views especially to W and with ground rising slightly to N. Within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL010-064001-). This subcircular cashel (int. diams. 34m N-S; 30m E-W; ext. diam. 36m N-S; 32m E-W) is defined by a wall (av. Wth 0.9-1m; int. H 0.9m; ext. H 0.8m) of generally small thin, uncoursed slabs and associated collapse (max. combined Wth 2m). A natural depression (Wth 1.4m; D 0.4m) forms a fosse outside the cashel W-NW and a later field wall overlies the perimeter E-SSE. The interior is slightly higher near the centre and contains a souterrain (CL010-064064-) to E of centre. Later wall foundations abut the cashel wall at S and WSW and partially grass-covered collapsed walls radiate off the cashel wall at S, SW and NNE. An enclosure (CL010-064017-) lies c. 37m to the W. A hut site (CL010-240----) lies c. 75m to the SW and there is another hut site (CL010-241----) c. 76m to the E.
