The National Monuments Service's description

On slightly elevated, gently S-sloping ground in rough pasture within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL009-084001-). This subcircular cashel (int. diams. 25m N-S; 23m E-W) is defined by a collapsed, double-faced stone wall (Wth 1.35m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 0.4-0.75m) of regular, thin flags. The inner wall-face is only clearly evident NE-E, while the outer wall-face is visible at the SE and SW and has been partly rebuilt at ENE. From NW-N the enclosed area is defined by a low, stony bank. An entrance gap (max. Wth 2.8m) at S is flanked by an upright flag jambstone (H 0.3m) on the E side and the W jambstone lies prone. A substantial band (max. combined Wth 5m at W; ext. H 1.6m) of rubble at W may overlie an internal feature (est. L 3.6m E-W; int. Wth 1m N-S) against the inner wall-face at the W edge of the cashel’s level interior. Built against the inner wall-face at the N is a subcircular cell (diams. 4m E-W; 3m N-S; H 0.5m). Grass-covered field walls radiate from the cashel at NW and SW and a less overgrown wall runs N from the N side of the cashel. Other sections of curving stone walls lie just outside the cashel at NNE and SE.
