The National Monuments Service's description
On a plateau in rough pasture, within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-084001-). This standing stone (H 1.73m; Wth 1.3m; T 0.16m) is oriented NNE-SSW. Its NNE edge is almost straight and vertical. The SSW edge is uneven and curves from the top of the stone towards its base. It forms part of a concentration of prehistoric monuments in the immediate vicinity that was investigated by Grant (1995, 31-3; 2004, 29, no. 112; 2006, 553, AD9). The closest monuments in this ‘complex’ include: a wedge tomb (CL009-084007-), an unclassified megalithic tomb (CL009-084008-) and a cist (CL009-084009-), which lie c. 29m to the SSW; a stone row (CL009-084006-) c. 21m to the WSW and cairn (CL009-084010-) c. 24m to ENE.
