The National Monuments Service's description
On a S-facing slope in rough pasture, within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-059001-). Indicated on the OS 25-inch plan (1897) and 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the RMP (1996). This subcircular cashel (ext. dims. 37.8m N-S; 34.5m E-W) is defined by a stone spread (Wth 3-5.5m but 7.5m at E; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 0.2-0.5m). A drystone field wall (H 1.2m; Wth 0.6-0.7m) overlies it from SW to NW. Traces of the outer wall-face, consisting of large horizontally laid stones, are visible beneath the latter wall. Gaps at S (Wth 0.6m) and N (Wth 0.9m) are not original. A stone-lined structure (c. 6m NE-SW; c. 3m NW-SE) built on the line of the rubble at NW is probably of post-medieval date or later. There is a possible souterrain (CL009-059111-) in the E sector of the interior. Another cashel (CL009-059083-) lies c. 74m to the SE.
