At the W edge of a NE-SW ridge, in an area of rough pasture, within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-059001-). The land slopes steeply to the NW. Hachured as a roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 26m) on the 1842 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. On the 1920 ed., it is larger and more D-shaped in plan.
A roughly D-shaped enclosure (int. dims. 33.8m NW-SE) defined by a drystone wall (H 0.5-2m); the NW side (L 46m) is straight but three other straight sections also occur at N, NE and SE. Only the S section of the wall is curving, possibly mirroring the outline of the enclosure shown on the 1842 map. A number of large stones (L 1m; T 0.4m; H 0.2m) are incorporated into the wall, their long axis point towards the centre of the enclosure and form a flush outer face. The construction of the wall directly on topsoil and the dearth of wall rubble from collapse suggest that it is not ancient. There is a wide modern entrance at SW. The interior slopes down to the SE, especially from the centre where there is a marked drop (H c. 1.5m). To the NW of centre a shelf (Wth c. 10-15m) crosses the site from NNE to WSW. Approximately 20m to the NE, a rectangular enclosure (int. dims. 8m NW-SE; 5.4m NE-SW) is defined by a similar stone wall. It does not appear to be an antiquity. A cashel (CL009-059079-) lies c. 20m to the SSE and another cashel (CL009-059076-) lies c. 116m to the SSW.
