The National Monuments Service's description
On a gentle E-facing slope in rough pasture, within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-059001-). Described by Westropp (1915, 255) as a ‘fan-shaped court’ with ‘a hut 6 feet inside, with wall 3 feet thick at the south-east corner, touching which and outside it is a circular hut with walls of equal thickness and 6 feet inside’. On inspection in 1997 this was recorded as a D-shaped or triangular enclosure (int. dims. 9.9m NNE-SSW; 7m WNW-ESE) defined by a collapsed stone wall (Wth 1.5-3m; H 0.3-0.5m) attached to the N side of a grass-covered field boundary running ESE-WNW. The interior appeared to be lower than the surrounding ground. In the SE corner there was a stone-lined cell (int. dims. L 2.7m; Wth 1.6m). Outside the enclosure at E there was a small cairn (diam. 4m; H. 0.3-0.6m) possibly representing rubble from a break in the field wall immediately to the E.
A hut site (CL009-059051-) lies c. 75m to the S.
