The National Monuments Service's description
On a narrow shelf on a plateau, in pasture within a large multiperiod field system (CL009-059001-). Indicated and named ‘Carn’ on the 1897 OS 25-inch plan and the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Described by Westropp (1897, 118) as a ‘small’ cairn but later (Westropp 1915, 255) as ‘entirely removed’. On inspection in 1997 a low cairn (diam. 4m; H 0.5m) was noted but it appeared to be a clearance cairn possibly related to spill from Cahercutteen cashel (CL009-059039-) c. 18m to the N. A hut site (CL009-059038-) lies c. 20m to the SW and a megalithic structure (CL009-059042-) lies c. 46m to the ESE.
