Visible on Digital Globe (2011-3013) and MapGenie (3013-2018) aerial imagery in rough pasture as a relict, meandering trackway (est. max Wth c. 4.5m) running upslope (between the 400’ and 500’ contours; traceable L c. 280m SW-NE) from near a main road at SW towards the NE and an area containing numerous archaeological monuments – cairns, cashels and enclosures (including, inter alia, CL009-042001-, CL009-042002-, CL009-043----, CL009-136001-, CL009-136002-, CL009-152----, CL009-267---- and CL009-269----). This may have been the trackway mentioned by Westropp (1898, 361-2), while on his way to inspect some of these monuments, when he wrote, ‘Crossing a grass-grown old road …’. The trackway is defined by stone walls with the apparently better preserved wall along the NW edge recorded as a field boundary on both the first (1842) and Cassini (1920) editions of the OS 6-inch map. The opposite wall, along the SE edge, is not recorded by the OS and appears less well-preserved and intermittently gapped on the aerial imagery. Three other shorter sections of possible relict trackways lie to the SW (CL009-036006-), S (CL009-036007-) and SE (CL009-036008-).
