The National Monuments Service's description

On a rise on a plateau within a multiperiod field system (CL009-021001-). This circular cashel (ext. diam. 30m) is reduced to a stone spread. A townland boundary (H 1.3m) wall overlies it from SW to N. Beneath it the spread is 1.3-1.6m wide and is generally flush with the interior, though in some places it is 0.5m high. From N to E to S the spread is more substantial (Wth at E 4.9m; max. int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.4-0.7m). An L-shaped souterrain (CL009-021014-) is almost centrally located within the centre of the interior and its shorter arm runs E-W inside/under the spread at S where there is a marked bulge. Outer wall-facing is visible all round. The foundations of the original entrance (Wth 1.3m) are visible at ESE. The N edge is defined by single horizontally laid piece of limestone (L 1.9m; H 0.18m; T 0.23m), while on the S edge three stones (L 2.1m) are visible. Another possible souterrain (CL009-021056-) lay outside the cashel at W (Robinson 1977). An unclassified cairn lies c. 85m to the SSE. (Grant 2010, 46-8)
