The National Monuments Service's description
On a rise in a S-facing slope at the edge of a plateau, overlooking the W end of the Kilcorney Valley, in an area of rough pasture and hazel cover, and within a multiperiod field system (CL009-255---). Labelled ‘Carn’ on the Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map. An oval cairn (diams. 11.8m E–W; 9m N–S; H 0.4–1.3m), the N edge of which is indistinct. There are two quarry holes adjacent to the cairn; one to the W (dims. 3.4m N–S; 2.4m E–W) and a second to the E (diam. c. 2m).
As well as a wedge tomb (CL009-020001-) c. 50 to N, there are two cairns nearby: one (CL009-145003-) lies c. 160m to ENE and another (CL009-145----) c. 160m to NE. These is a pronounced concentration of cairns in the area, as noted by Westropp (1899, 370) and Grant (2010, 46).
